Runaway circus kangaroo on the loose in ***Begin Quote*** ***AND*** There had since been one unconfirmed sighting of the animal, renamed "Hoppy" by locals and described as two and a half to three feet tall and dark in color. ***End Quote*** There’s just something funny about the vision of a Roo running over I don’t know why but this just makes me chuckle. From: Angela M. Guerriero
(Lynch) - Class of 1985 John, My mother, Dr. Mary E. Lynch passed away on Sunday, July
30th after a tough battle with cancer.
Always the figher, they predicted she would
have six months to live and she made it to four years. Thank you, == Mary Emeline Lynch, of {JR: Dear Ms. Angela, Thanks for sending the obit. I'll move in next Sunday's issue. Nothing I can say would make it all better. I know from my wife, who's Mom died at a very young age, that there's a special bond between a girl and her Mom and that the loss always hurts. My Mom is traveling a similar road, as will we all. Your Mom was truly a "Mother of Jaspers". MC does become like a extension of family. As a pro-life Libertarian, I believe that we fulfill a mission even in our last days. We have the ability, by allowing people to help, sympathize, laugh, and cry, to express the value of human life. And the indomitable human spirit of courage. I'm sure that the extra time was very valuable to everyone. Tonight, in my prayers, for peace, I'll add an extra for you, your Mom, your immediate family, and our extended family of Jaspers, and the world in general. We are all diminished when we lose a member of the human family. Especially one so accomplished. Wish I had known her. Heck, I wish I had her as a Prof, I had too many Ds and could have used a friendly grader. I'm sure she'd have been impressed that I was going to exchange emails with her daughter in the future. I guess I have seen the movie "Back to the Future" too many times. People do call me an anachronism and a throwback, but I don't think "Neanderthal" quite fits. In any event, I am sorry to receive this news, but I am pleased you shared her story with us. Fjohn } |

The answer was a resounding yes, and Effinger's appointment was announced yesterday. "It's a real thrill for someone born in Throgs Neck, who went to the last game at the old Garden, and who was in the stands when the Rangers won the Cup in 1994," Effinger said. Effinger, who went 184-66-5 as Iona coach from 1979-90 to earn a spot in the college's Sports Hall of Fame, also coached hockey and lacrosse at Rye Country Day from 1974-99. In 1998, he joined the Wild after working as a part-time scout for the Buffalo Sabres and San Jose Sharks. He left a physical-education teaching position at RCDS to become a full-time scout with the Wild six years ago. "With the Wild, we had a good run that started the year before the Wild hit the ice," the 54-year-old Effinger said. "I enjoyed helping them put the team together." Effinger is anxious to make his mark on the Rangers. "It's like coming back home," said Effinger, a 20-year Larchmont resident and a Effinger, who was the Wild's Eastern scout, is looking forward to having more varied responsibilities with the Rangers. Ask yourself, how often have you personally ever been bothered by someone smoking on a floor above you in a hotel?" :) Michael = Michael J. McFadden {JR: Looks like "news" to me. From: John C. Fitzgerald [Student] Quoting "Reinke's Jasper (mc68alum) Persona" > Dear MC Rugby gang, We would love it if you could post any information regarding MC Rugby on your website. If you don't know, we were founded in May of 2005 and finally got approval from the school in April, 2006. However, we are on observation for 6 months and need to prove that we are serious and responsible. We would love to have alumni attend our games and show some support. Our last game against Marist boasted attendance of approximately 200 people and was a lot of fun, even though we lost. We will keep you posted on our schedule and outcomes of the games if you would like, as well as directions to the field. Thanks a lot for this opportunity, the team will be glad to hear about it. Speak to you soon. -John Fitzgerald {JR: You have to love a sport to play it with no hope of reward other than the satisfaction of doing something fun. Kinda like CICing Jasper Jottings. } |

From: Frank Orawiec [1968] John, Thank you for your wish for my birthday! It is very nice to know that someone cares enough to recognize this event that we all share (many times, hopefully!) in our lives. I'm not sure what your grandmother meant but I enjoy my birthday as I do any other day in the year. As we approach our "golden years", we start to realize that today is what we have and tomorrow is not promised so enjoy what you have (and I do). I am blessed with a wonderful, loving wife, a daughter, son-in-law, 2 great grandchildren, my mother and sister. What more could you ask for! I do not miss ML or the work. I miss the people I worked with (and who worked for me) and the relationships we built. I try to have lunch with someone every month or so to keep the ties in place. Retirement is a wonderful life event if you have prepared for it (and we have). Thanks again, ----- Original Message ----- From: Reinke's Jasper (mc68alum) Persona {JR: As I said, I'm not sure what she meant either. ;-) I'd ask for a treasure chest of gold coins. Then, maybe, I be half as rich as you with your family. Glad you're breaking the stereotype of retirement and not rusting out. } |

ZFound (Jaspers Found on Ziggs http://www.ziggs.com)Ziggs harvested all the public personal pages as a search engine would. Using their free offering, I have identified ~700 possible Jaspers from it. I'm planning to share 10 "found on Ziggs" Jaspers each week in the coming weeks. The first group moves in this week's issue. I don't like to overwhelm the readership with too much of anything. Besides "harvesting" takes a lot of time. And, these folks thought they could hide from Jasper Jottings! |
