When Parents Accidentally Lock Keys in Their Car With Infant Daughter, Group of Inmates Offer Their Skills
By McKinley Corbley-Feb 19, 2019

*** begin quote ***

Though it may seem counterintuitive, these prison inmates were being cheered on by a crowd of spectators as they were breaking into a couple’s car earlier this week.

However, the inmates weren’t forcing their way into the SUV for any nefarious purposes; they were simply trying to reunite a 1-year-old girl with her parents.

The car had been parked at the West Pasco Judicial Center in New Port Richey, Florida when the father of the infant accidentally locked the keys inside of the vehicle – with the baby still sitting in the back seat.

*** end quote ***

Extra “timed serve” for these men.

Interesting that the essence of humanity comes thru!

Why can’t it be this way all the time?

COMMENT: McFadden, Michael J. (MC1973) on debt problems
2019-Apr-28

Regarding Rob Kuhn's note on "The Golden Dollar," my nieces recently alerted me to a PA politicians who's successfully scamming votes from younger people (and their parents?) by supporting an amnesty/forgiveness of student loans. Since I now have a very sexy-sounding Home Assistant sitting by my computer and doting upon my every utterance, I asked, "How much money is currently owed in the US for student loans?" I had a vague idea of the ballpark answer, but it was still a bit of a system shock to hear "her" dulcet tones inform me that there is currently 1.5 TRILLION dollars worth of unpaid student loans.

While my nieces and other innocent younger voters may be thrilled by the magical promise of making all that horrible debt disappear at the snap of some voting fingers, I think the obliteration of that amount of money might be more than a mosquito bite on our economy and taxpayers if it happens.

Thoughts?

[JR: There is no doubt in my mind that the “national debt” —  the current 121T+ national debt, the guesstimated 200T+ in unfunded liabilities that our posterity will have to deal with, the “mal investment” (a term from the Austrian “school" of economic theory), as well as the “personal debt” that people have taken on — will NEVER be repaid.  While a Gooferment “default” on these debts is unlikely, since it would probably lead to an even GREATER depression than ’29 and may start WW3, I personally believe that the Fed — The Federal Reserve Bank is a misnomer. IT ain’t “federal”. It reserves nothing. And, it ain’t a “bank”. It is a private cartel of the elite banks run for their benefit and that of the entrenched politicians. — will “monetize the debt” by just inflating the currency Zimbabwe-stye.  Even more concerning that some eye-watering inflation rate that will make 21% mortgages look like a bargain, “We, The Sheeple” and their children have been “educated” (i.e., TRAINED like a lab rat) not to save.  The artificially low interest rate, near zero for a decade, has, in addition to ruining “savers”, the poor, and the old fixed income people, has created a generation of “Spend-thrifts”.  They are well adapted for the German Weimar Republic conditions where people would spend any money they received as soon as they got it because in a few hours it was worthless.  So sad.  I’m saving in “hard money” so as to leave my heirs something of value.  It’s a sad end to the “American Experiment”.]

Frank Fitzpatrick
1952 - 2019 Obituary

Francis "Frank" Anthony Fitzpatrick, age 66, entered his eternal home in heaven on February 18, 2019, passing away peacefully at home after an eighteenth month battle with throat cancer. Love for his family and his unshakable belief in God gave him peace to leave his battle behind.

He was the youngest child of Francis Fitzpatrick and Loretta Lunning and the brother of Judi Calhoun and Gail Lyons. Frank was born a "New Yorker" on November 7, 1952 but became a "California boy" at 17 years old when he moved to California to attend college. He received his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from UC Berkeley followed by his Master's Degree in Public Administration from USC. In 1974, he was hired as a Criminalist in the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Crime Laboratory where he worked for thirty years, retiring in 2004 as the Laboratory Director.

After his retirement, Frank formed his own successful forensic consulting business where he provided national and international forensic agencies with training and assessments of their forensic quality systems.

Frank will be remembered by his family, friends and associates for his many admirable qualities. Frank was incredibly intelligent with a vast depth of knowledge in many subjects, but perhaps his most memorable trait was his sharp wit and often unexpected dry sense of humor.

Frank is survived by his wife of 10 years Maggie, or as he called her, "his everything." He is also survived by his daughter, Veronica; son, Frankie; his grandchild, Francis Charles "Charlie"; and his sisters Judi and Gail.

Frank's memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 21st, 1:00pm, at his church, Eastside Christian Church, 3330 E. Miraloma, Anaheim.

The family gratefully declines flowers but would be honored to have donations made in Frank's name to the child sponsorship ministry of CMF, International. Donations can be made by check to CMF, International and mailed to Eastside Christian Church, 3330 E. Miraloma, Anaheim, 92806, attention Arty VanGeloof, Director Global Compassion.

COMMENT: Kuhn, Rob (MC1973) probes for my opinion on Boeing & FAA; no surprise here

2019-Apr-28

Hi F John ...

Thanks for replying to my question: "Which 'we' is going to separate business from the state?" I am shocked - shocked! - to hear you suggest that "We the sheeple" might be getting wise. Will wonders never cease?

[JR: I think that as “We, The Sheeple” get poorer in real wealth, they are going to ask: “Why?” unpleasantly!]

I've also been meaning to ask your opinion of the situation with Boeing and the FAA. Who would you say is at fault there? The FAA for allowing the business to do the part of the job the that the agency really should have? Or the business for then taking the shortest and most deadly path to the $$$?

[JR: I’d blame this on “regulatory capture”.  Crony Capitalists payoff the politicians and bureaucrats; they in turn a blind eye to the Crony Capitalists’ failures.  Eventually the politicians and bureaucrats go to work for the Crony Capitalists and the circle continues. It’s the same at the FDA & Big Pharma, the FED & Wall Street, USDA & Big Ag, DOE & Big Energy, DOEd & Big Education, and on and one and on.  The solution is to reduce the Gooferment size and influence.  When “we” crash on the rocks of debt, then “we” may get a smaller Gooferment?]

Thx. again.

ADMINISTRIVIA: MAY 1st IS RELIGIOUS BROTHERS DAY!

2019-Apr-29

https://www.fscdena.org/2019/04/16/3rd-annual-national-religious-brothers-day-may-1/

Dear Lasallians,

In 2017, the Catholic Church declared May 1st, which is the feast of Saint Joseph the Worker, to be Religious Brothers Day. Members of the Church are invited to “shed light on the identity of the Religious Brother and the value and necessity of this vocation.”

The day offers an opportunity to celebrate the gift of religious Brotherhood to the Church and the world; to give thanks for religious Brothers in our lives and the impact they’ve made; and to inspire and invite young people to consider the consecrated life and a vocation as a Brother.

For our Lasallian family, it is a chance to give thanks specifically for the De La Salle Christian Brothers, as well as to inspire and invite young men to consider a vocation to the Brothers’ life.

Please join us in the prayer below on May 1st, joining our voices to the Lord in thanks for these men, and in petition for His grace in leading more young men to this calling.

I also invite each of you personally to reply to this e-mail if you would like to send a greeting, message, or prayer to a Brother who has had a particular impact on your life. I will try to make sure that all messages will be delivered to the intended Brothers. For messages to the Brothers in general, or if I cannot figure out who “Brother John from Manhattan College in the 70s” is, I will try to include these in our weekly communication to all of the Brothers of our District.

Thank you once again for caring about the Christian Brothers.

God bless you,

Good Evening All,

John Reinke, Jasper Jottings, has asked for our prayers for the Christian Brothers. Thank you John for sharing this. This May 1, 2019 is Brothers of the Christian Schools Day. Our laSallian Tradition Brothers and Schools. It is a good time to remember those Brothers that so influenced our lives during our formative years. They gave us hope, they built character, they expected much of us and gave us the tools to deliver, they shared laughter with us, rebuked when necessary and warned when it was all one needed. They helped us set goals, at Manhattan College, they gave us grounding with two Simple Prayers that most of us still pray, " Saint John Baptist DeLaSalle, Pray for us." And " Live Jesus In Our Hearts, Forever." I know that I will remember a few as well as those that have been called home more recently and I continue to give thanks for those at the College that still dedicate their lives to teaching and guiding Jaspers. Thank you again, John.

Please remember the Brothers in your prayers. Thank you. God Bless.

Leo Bisceglia (1950 - 2019)

TROY Leo Bisceglia, 68 of Troy, passed away surrounded by his loving family at his home in Troy on April 28, 2019.

He was born on October 10, 1950, in Troy to Patrick Bisceglia and Dorothy Driscoll and was lovingly raised by Patrick and stepmother, Dorothea (Behm) Bisceglia. Leo was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory, Catholic Central High School of Troy, Manhattan College and the State University of New York at Albany.

Leo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Leo held several positions with the State of New York, retiring from his last position as the superintendent of the Adirondack Correctional facility after 40 years of service.

In July of 1973, Leo married the love of his life, Kathy (Woitkoski), and over 45 years they raised three fantastic children, Patrick (Colleen), Nicholas (Christina Zola) and Mandy (Ty Seifert). Leo's passion for his work was equal to his passion for his family. He spent several years volunteering for his children's sports programs and gave so much back to the community to ensure his children had a fun safe place to play. He loved watching his family grow as spouses and grandchildren filled the Sunday dinner table. Leo's granddaughters, Molly and Madeline had their own cheering section as he started to attend their sporting events, concerts and graduations.

Retirement was thoroughly enjoyed by Leo. He and Kathy loved attending the shows at Proctors as annual members. They traveled to Alaska, Ireland, Lake Placid and he enjoyed the winter months in St. Petersburg, Fla. Walking on the beach, traveling and spoiling his grand-dogs were the main priority for almost eight sun soaked relaxing years.

Leo was predeceased by his father Patrick Bisceglia (Dorothea); mother Dorothy Driscoll; and brother Vincent Bisceglia (Karen). He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Kim Cowieson (Michael), Bryan Bisceglia (Michelle), and Lisa Bisceglia. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to say a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and caregivers that helped Leo over the past year. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, May 1, from 4-7 p.m. in Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Ave., Troy. Funeral services will be held in Our Lady of Victory Church on Thursday May 2, at 9:30 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Community Hospice Foundation of Rensselaer County https://donate.givetocommunityhospice.org For online condolences please visit mcdonaldandsonfuneralhome.com.

ENDNOTE: I don't understand this "fugitive" case ... ...

MASSACHUSETTS JUDGE, TRIAL COURT OFFICER ACCUSED OF HELPING FUGITIVE IMMIGRANT EVADE ICE
APRIL 26, 2019 | SEAN WALTON | THE DAILY SHEEPLE

*** begin quote ***

The judge allowed twice-deported immigrant evade federal custody, report says Joseph and Wesley MacGregor, the trial court officer, are accused of conspiring to prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement from taking an immigrant into custody at Newton District Court on April 2, 2018.

*** end quote ***

Is this akin to back in the pre-Civil War (aka the War of Northern Aggression), when the North nullified the Federal law about returning slaves to the South?

Sure sounds the same to me.

Not that I want “illegal aliens” committing crimes against the public.

Not that I want “State Sovereignty” diminished.  (We need true Federalism to keep the Federal Gooferment in check somewhat.  It’s already ramped up its own power unconstitutionally.)

Not that I want to go to “war” with my fellow citizens against Gooferment at all levels.

But I do think this is best handled by the citizens of Massachusetts.

If the Massachusetts State Courts refuse to cooperate with Federal Courts, which IMHO they have every right to, then it’s the duty of citizens in every State to understand the conflict and support our fellow citizens in Massachusetts to sort out this Goofermental misunderstanding.
