Since I now have a very sexy-sounding Home Assistant sitting by my computer and doting upon my every utterance, I asked, "How much money is currently owed in the US for student loans?" I had a vague idea of the ballpark answer, but it was still a bit of a system shock to hear "her" dulcet tones inform me that there is currently 1.5 TRILLION dollars worth of unpaid student loans. While my nieces and other innocent younger voters may be thrilled by the magical promise of making all that horrible debt disappear at the snap of some voting fingers, I think the obliteration of that amount of money might be more than a mosquito bite on our economy and taxpayers if it happens. Love for his family and his unshakable belief in God gave him peace to leave his battle behind. He was the youngest child of Francis Fitzpatrick and Loretta Lunning and the brother of Judi Calhoun and Gail Lyons. Frank was born a "New Yorker" on November 7, 1952 but became a "California boy" at 17 years old when he moved to California to attend college. He received his Bachelor of Science in Criminology from UC Berkeley followed by his Master's Degree in Public Administration from USC. In 1974, he was hired as a Criminalist in the Orange County Sheriff-Coroner Crime Laboratory where he worked for thirty years, retiring in 2004 as the Laboratory Director. After his retirement, Frank formed his own successful forensic consulting business where he provided national and international forensic agencies with training and assessments of their forensic quality systems. Frank will be remembered by his family, friends and associates for his many admirable qualities. Frank was incredibly intelligent with a vast depth of knowledge in many subjects, but perhaps his most memorable trait was his sharp wit and often unexpected dry sense of humor. Frank is survived by his wife of 10 years Maggie, or as he called her, "his everything." He is also survived by his daughter, Veronica; son, Frankie; his grandchild, Francis Charles "Charlie"; and his sisters Judi and Gail. He was born on October 10, 1950, in Troy to Patrick Bisceglia and Dorothy Driscoll and was lovingly raised by Patrick and stepmother, Dorothea (Behm) Bisceglia. Leo was a graduate of Our Lady of Victory, Catholic Central High School of Troy, Manhattan College and the State University of New York at Albany. Leo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Leo held several positions with the State of New York, retiring from his last position as the superintendent of the Adirondack Correctional facility after 40 years of service. In July of 1973, Leo married the love of his life, Kathy (Woitkoski), and over 45 years they raised three fantastic children, Patrick (Colleen), Nicholas (Christina Zola) and Mandy (Ty Seifert). Leo's passion for his work was equal to his passion for his family. He spent several years volunteering for his children's sports programs and gave so much back to the community to ensure his children had a fun safe place to play. He loved watching his family grow as spouses and grandchildren filled the Sunday dinner table. Leo's granddaughters, Molly and Madeline had their own cheering section as he started to attend their sporting events, concerts and graduations. Retirement was thoroughly enjoyed by Leo. He and Kathy loved attending the shows at Proctors as annual members. They traveled to Alaska, Ireland, Lake Placid and he enjoyed the winter months in St. Petersburg, Fla. Walking on the beach, traveling and spoiling his grand-dogs were the main priority for almost eight sun soaked relaxing years. Leo was predeceased by his father Patrick Bisceglia (Dorothea); mother Dorothy Driscoll; and brother Vincent Bisceglia (Karen). He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Kim Cowieson (Michael), Bryan Bisceglia (Michelle), and Lisa Bisceglia. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and caregivers that helped Leo over the past year. McGurrin February 14, 1946 - April 29, 2019 Waltham, Massachusetts On Monday, April 29, 2019, Robert Francis "Bob" McGurrin, devoted and loving husband, brother, dad, and grandfather, unexpectedly passed from this earth and was received into the arms of his Heavenly Father. Bob was born in Boston to Nora (Dowd) and Robert Martin McGurrin on February 14, 1946. He was the valedictorian of the 1963 graduating class of St. Mary's High School in Waltham. Bob was awarded a full scholarship to Manhattan College, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, cum laude, in 1967, and later received a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Tufts University. He married the love of his life, Sheila Marie Fratantuono. Bob and Sheila recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Paris with a special marriage blessing during Mass in Notre Dame Cathedral. Bob had a brilliant and distinguished 36-year career at Raytheon and was Senior Vice President of Engineering when he left there in 2003. He then joined the faculty of Cathedral High School in 2004, where he taught mathematics and physics, serving five years as Principal. Bob's joy and unbounded energy were infectious. His commitment to his family, friends, and community was unparalleled. Over the years, Bob coached CYO basketball, taught CCD, and was President of the PTO at Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted School in Waltham. For many years Bob served as a member of the Waltham School Committee. He was a communicant at St. Mary Church, where he served as an altar boy, and was a member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society, the Parish Finance Committee, and the Ugandan Initiative. Bob could be spotted wearing the green in the Boston Garden on many occasions cheering on his hero, John Havlicek, Bob loved to travel with his Sheila Marie, including multiple trips to Europe, the Holy Land, and annual jaunts to New York City, enjoying theater, museums, and the opera. In addition to his beloved wife, Sheila, Bob leaves his children, Mary Catherine Novack and her husband, Michael, Robert J. McGurrin, and his wife, Alison, his two beautiful granddaughters Audrey Joyce McGurrin and Catherine Elizabeth Novack. Bob was the brother of Joan T.
