When Woman Leaves Giant Sign For Thief Who Stole Her Bike, People Start Knocking on Her Door
By McKinley Corbley Mar 19, 2018

*** begin quote ***

“Well, I posted a picture on Instagram, and a few of us started talking, and I was wondering if I could buy the sign off of you for …” he pointed to the lettering on the sign “ … for $200?”

True to his word, the art dealer bought the sign off of Needham for $200.

*** end quote ***

All the world’s problems can be reduced to a series of individual actions.

When individuals step up to the need, they can change the world.

Here’s an example of how the law of karma works.

COMMENT: Insull, Bob (MC1963) remembers Muller, Bruce P. [MC1957 RIP]

2018-Mar-26

RE: Obit notice here for Bruce P. Muller ('57 S)

I had the good fortune to be an undergraduate student under Bruce's tutelage at Manhattan College from 1960 to 1963. I took most of my major coursework in his classes, worked for him in various academic undertakings (Testing Center Aide, Teaching Assistant, Research projects, etc.) and became a friend of his entire and extended family (including - together with my then yet-to-be wife - babysitting his children!). After graduation and further training in psychology, I worked for and with Bruce in several clinical and academic settings while becoming his neighbor in Bethel, CT where we would have Sunday-morning coffee just about every week for 16 years.

Other than my wife, no single individual has had as much influence on the person I see myself today - a successful psychologist (now retired), a person with an inquiring mind, cosmopolitan tastes and one with a solid sense of humor and a healthy disrespect for convention and authority. A piece of my bedrock has passed. RIP good friend

/obituary.aspx?n=lt-colonel-james-g-sovich&pid=188604474

Lt. Colonel James G. Sovich
(1948 - 2018)

Lt. Colonel James G. Sovich USAF (Ret.) of Destin, Florida and formerly of North Hampton, New Hampshire passed away peacefully on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2018 with his loving wife Helene and daughter Emily at his side.

Jim was born Aug. 7, 1948 in Yonkers, New York to Frank and Agnes (Fedush) Sovich, the fourth of five siblings, all military veterans. He graduated from Manhattan College in 1970 with a BA degree and a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the USAF. After graduating from pilot training at Columbus AFB, Mississippi, he was assigned as a fighter pilot in the F-4 Phantom and flew that aircraft on assignments in Southeast Asia and Europe accumulating approximately 4,000 flying hours. Later in the AF Reserve, he transitioned to the F-16A Falcon in which he logged 700 hours. He was a graduate of many military combat schools and courses including the Air Force Fighter Weapons Course, the Air Force's ""Top Gun"" fighter pilot school. He will always be remembered in his military aviation circles as ""a fighter pilot's fighter pilot.""

Upon leaving active military service in 1978, he started his civilian aviation career with American Airlines as a flight engineer and after 30 years of service retired in 2008 as a B-777 Captain. He was extremely active in American's pilot union, the Allied Pilots Association (APA), serving in many capacities including as its President from 1994-1997.

In addition to his wife, Helene Sovich of Destin, Florida, he is survived by his daughter, Emily Michaud (Joe) of Milton, New Hampshire and son, Thomas Sovich (Lizzy) of Kingfisher, Oklahoma. He relished his time at Little Ossipee Lake in Waterboro, Maine with his grandchildren, Elise Marie Trepanier and Maverick James Michaud of Milton, New Hampshire.

Jim also leaves three brothers, Lt. Col Francis A. Sovich, USAF (Ret'd) (Margaret) of Warrensburg, Missouri, Lt. Col John M. Sovich, USAF (Ret'd) (Jane) of Hampton, New Hampshire and Lt. Col Joseph A. Sovich, USAF, (Ret'd) (Patricia) of Litchfield Park, Arizona. In 2017, he was predeceased by his sister, Captain Patricia A. Sovich, NC, USN (Ret'd) of Silverdale, Washington. He leaves many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church, 307 Beach Drive, Destin, Florida. A recitation of the Rosary will precede the mass at 1 p.m.

Interment will take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery where his sister, Pat is interred. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Jim's name to the Wounded Warrior Project or another veteran's group of the donor's choice.

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth…put out my hand, and touched the face of God. (John Gillespie Magee)

ENDNOTE: Is Holy Mother Church being led by petty leftist Pope?

Vatican Cracks Down on Critics of Pope Francis
By Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D
Breitbart
March 24, 2018

*** begin quote ***

The Vatican has taken new measures to punish critics of Pope Francis in a move that seems to belie the pope’s earlier calls for greater dialogue and debate within the Church.

On Thursday, the Rome-based Sovereign Order of Malta, which reports directly to the Holy See, suspended historian Henry Sire after he was revealed to be the author of the bestselling book The Dictator Pope: The Inside Story of the Francis Papacy, a critical examination of the pontificate of Pope Francis.

Meanwhile the Vatican has hired the international law firm of Baker McKenzie to force a small Spanish website called InfoVaticana.com to close its doors, allegedly for its sometimes critical tone toward aspects of the Francis papacy. The firm recently threatened a lawsuit if Infovaticana isn’t shut down and “its internet domain transferred to the Vatican.”

*** end quote ***

Sad to say but the Church’s leadership, with its unbelievable non-response to the pedophilia scandal, may have just condemned it forever to irrelevance.

Once it was the equal to the various Kings in power and influence. Now it’s been neutered as a moral authority by the Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats.

Just have to shrug one’s shoulders and move along. No sense paying any attention to this particular “train wreck”.

Sadly.
