Summer of 1993: I'm 23 and Manhattan College let me live for free in a Bronx apartment since I worked for the school. I was a recent grad and spent that summer partying 24-7. My apartment had no air conditioning, yet I made it work. I actually used a bunch of fans and slept next to an open window on the balcony!! Flashback last night: 2007- I almost died not having air!!! It is fixed today!!! 23 year old Stei may shake his head, but I am a free man!!!

Thomas E. Murray, P.E., 83

Retired from career with NYC DEP as Chief of Distribution for Staten Island

Thomas E. Murray, P.E., 83, passed away at home on June 13, 2017.

He was the beloved husband of the late Patricia A. Murray (nee Tierney). He was the loving father of Tommy and his wife, Diana, Patricia, Michael and his wife, Annmarie, Robert, Jean Graziano and her husband, Jack, Mary Beth Murray and her husband, Keith Zavilowitz. He was cherished by his 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was the fond brother of Virginia and the late James, Mary, Frances, Lawrence, Kathleen and John. He was a beloved brother-in-law and uncle to over 50 nieces and nephews.

Thomas was born in the Bronx and graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School. He studied Civil Engineering at Manhattan College. Tom served in the U.S. Army as a combat and construction engineer stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. Upon his discharge, Tom started his career at NYC DEP, Bureau of Water Supply in the Manhattan Construction Division and became a resident engineer on cast iron and steel water mains in Manhattan.

In 1958 he married his sweetheart, Patricia, and settled down in Fordham Manor section of the Bronx. After becoming a Licensed Professional Engineer in 1966, Tom was promoted to Civil Engineer and placed in charge of Manhattan's Planning and Drafting Division. That same year, Tom and Pat moved their growing family to Staten Island. In 1972, he passed the test for Senior Civil Engineer and was made the Distribution Engineer for Staten Island. He was very active in Mid Island Little League during the '70s and '80s as a coach and on the Board of Directors. Tom was instrumental in the construction of its Travis facility. Tom enjoyed sports, whether it was as a football player for his freshman high school team, a coach for his children's teams, a spectator at his grandchildren's games or just watching his favorite Yankees or Giants on TV with Claudette Cornwall who lovingly cared for him these past two years.

Funeral is from the Matthew Funeral Home, Inc., 2508 Victory Boulevard, on Tuesday, departing at 10:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Adalbert's R.C. ENDNOTE: Tax-funded anything, but especially abortions, are abhorrent

2017-Jun-17

https://www.survivalmonkey.com/threads/the-rawles-rationale.59559/

The Rawles Rationale

*** begin quote ***

Tax-funded abortions are a national disgrace. This is the moral equivalent of the Nazis forcing German Jews to pay their own train fare for deportation to fenced ghettos and eventual extermination.

*** end quote ***

I’m going through a mild depression at everything. Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy. And I don’t see how it can get any better.

Perhaps the solution is to dissolve the Union and let people freely decide what’s best for them.

Argh!

For me to be forced to pay taxes for things, that I nether need, want, or can use, is very upsetting. For things that I morally oppose, it’s abhorrent to the principles the Republic was founded on: “Life, Liberty, and Property”.

Argh! Argh!
