In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot. ~Mark Twain, Notebook, 1935 |
Today’s Veterans Day. As a vet, no one has to thank me for what I did. I did what I had to do. What we should be looking at is (a) was every sacrifice absolutely necessary? (b) have we fulfilled our commitment to the boys and girls who did our dirty work? (c) did we learn our lessons from our mistakes? Sadly, I think we fall short on all three questions. I’ve blogged about some things that I felt strongly about. http://tinyurl.com/2xjljs http://tinyurl.com/yrobh9 http://tinyurl.com/27pnww No sense repeating them here. I don’t think we honor veterans! In fact, I’m ashamed at how we let our comrades-in-arms be treated. |
Reflect well on our alma mater, this week, every week, in any and every way possible, large or small. God bless. "Collector-in-chief" # # # # # |
