He was an upbeat, helpful, dedicated, talented man who loved his yard and exploring the outdoors, traveling, good food and spending time fishing or with family at Napatree on his boat. He also loved playing and coaching sports and was as an avid New England sports fan. PRAYERSREQUESTED: Colon, Philip J. (MC1962) prays for Ed2018-Sep-13Good Evening All, I ask for your prayers for a good friend to many of us, a member of our Retreat Team and Fellow Jasper, Ed Riely. Ed has just come home from Hospital after a six day stay and his second hospitalization in seven weeks. The previous stat was for 4 days. Both related to infections and wounds on his right toes and foot up to his ankle. The MDs would seem to have gotten the right antibiotic after opening up and cleaning the bones of infection in surgery Friday night. Ed has a tube from his arm to his heart through a vein in his left arm. He has to carry around a pressurized " Baseball " that dispenses the new antibiotic 24 hours a day for six weeks. It is not a pleasant experience but sure is better than the alternative. Please keep the volume up for Ed for a speedy recovery and that the antibiitic does its' job and causes no adverse effects.
